elmpala 07-10-2003, 09:47 AM In tring to get a little more clearance for the under hood cover I'm building I removed the air cleaner lid to check clearance. Although the filter is 3 inched tall it appears that only about 3/4" is used for air flow. I also noticed a metallic ring that appears to restrict air flow. No big motor. Probably just GM's over engineering. I thought it could be a flame arrestor. I'm going to remove it sincw I bet OEM air cleaners don't have it. Hopefully it will increase air flow somewhat to my Vortec 350. Thanks for the info. | ||
