I'm new to the board, and I've searched for 3800 and haven't found anyone thats done the swap. Just curious, not really asking questions about putting it in, I've done engine swaps before, but will the little 3800 supercharged engines mate to a 4l60e? I ask because I know they come horizontally mounted. I'm not sure if the bellhousing pattern is different on the longitudinal motors?
Thanks,
Cale
I couldn't answer that question for certain, but I do know they used the 3800 v6 in the camaro, and that's a rwd platform. I would assume they use the same block for the sc 3800 and the rwd 3800. It might take some more research to be sure but at least it's likely that it's possible.

You'd think it would be the same, but GM has done some crazy stuff before, so I wanted to check. I may have to call a dealership and tell them I need a block for a GP and for a v6 F body and see if the P/Ns match.

I don't know of anyone that has done a SC 3800 but there have been a few Turbo V6s done. Grand National motors were used.

I have a supercharged 3.8 in my park avenue and belong to a site called L67swap.com
They know just about everything about the gm 3.8's

yes my first chance to help out :)
to my experience (in changing oils and being Grand prix club member on many forums) the 3800 in the W-bodys and the cameros are slightly different.
but as fars as the block is concenered they are the same block just when there build up some things are change such as O2 sensor, throttle controlls blah blah just little things that can be fix with some fabricatiing :)
ill look in to it more and find out exactly:)
