and no, i'm not talking about what the steaks in the chow hall are made of

looks like i might be wandering around aimlessly in a new uniform soon...
i heard that we might be getting new BDU's in the future, the Lt. in charge of the orderly room sent us out a pic, it looks like this might be the new look of the Air Force

I watched a program on the New Uniforms for the Army and Urban combat troops. It had Kevlar built in along with an outside that changed as the background around you changed. It was NBC impregnable skin so troops could be deployed without all the heavy crap they have to have on now and was thermal insulated as well so that Heat and Cold had very minor impact on the troops. It was the uniform of the Future! Additionally it had a link to the helmet that had IR vision and a link to the other team members and command. You could switch to a specific soldiers view so that you could see what they were looking at on split screen visor.

All very futuristic stuff. There were other things about it I can't remember all of it.

I seen that too Pete I can't remeber the figure they said it cost. But it was a neat looking suit no very traditional but it was pure future in the raw.

because:
1) the forum category the thread is in is "General BS", and that's pretty much what it is
2) from my experience, every automotive forum i visit, be it chevy, ford, US, Aussie, any in between, or any i might not have covered has several former military members, and usually one or two current military members, and as a current member of the Air Force, i figured that someone here would be interested in it
3) it affects me, there is more to life than cars, i was sharing one little section of it with everyone else

if you don't like reading it, then why did you, and more importantly, if it affected you that little, why bother posting about it?
