There's a guy from Daytona and another from St Cloud, we were trying to meet at Speedworld on Wednesdays, I never made it to any :(
All days of the week seem to be too hectic for me, but I do need to get out and see what others are doing... I'll keep watching here and see if I can meet up with you guys... my Elky's on jack-stands right now, I'm trying to clean-up the wheel wells etc.... I have so many things I want to do, but with limited funds and limited tools, I'm making very slow progress

for me is just time, i can only work on the car on the weekends, so I figure that by my self I should have the car ready in about 6 months. I'm aming for less.

Im game for something on the weekends.I picked up a nice 86 so I have something thats presentable,looks real good. only 57,000 miles-and best of all NOT a project! :) Seems like the projects always follow me home.Perhaps Peter out in Daytona has an Idea?Hes got his 59 together-Just a thought.

only 3 of us.... :( I know I see alot more Elky's on the road around here, must not know about NECOA.. there's an older guy in my neighborhood used to have an 86 White SS.... got rid of it 3 yrs ago, must've missed it because he just brought home a brownish one with all the Choo Choo ground effects last month, I need to stop by and get him hooked up with this site. I definately need some motivation and/or tips etc... from others with a similar car, as my car knowledge is seriously lacking... so I am all for getting together once in awhile. There is a big get together (drags mostly) of cars that drive to Publix at 50 and 419 one Sunday morning a month and then they all cruise to speedworld and race each other, this might be a good starting point. I'll call them and get a definate schedule and post it back here. Wednesday night is a pretty good call too, not overly crowded. Think it over and get more Orlando Elky's involved, even if you have to cut them off in traffic :-P

well my car is not ready for drag but I'm in.

I am close to Kennedy Space Center but relatively close to 50th. Make that 4 of us rather than 3. I would be willing to head out that way. I have not taken my Elco very many places lately.

That is primarily because of time. Been working lots of hours lately. Don't know too much about that drag stuff but it sure would be nice to meet some fellow Elco owners, compare notes, share some stories, and / or establish new contacts.

I'm in daytona and have made the trip to speed world once, may go again some time.

I've been trying to call Speedworld... nobody there during the day, I will call this Friday night and post here which Sunday of the month the cruising happens. Failing that, Wednesday nights are way less crowded, maybe we could all agree on which Wednesday and go from there, even if we don't race, it'll be great , like 82elco said, to share info, etc....

Hey, I am out here also. I have been out of the state the last couple of week on business, and just am able to get to this web site. You might try to go on line to find out the schedule at speedworld. Wednesdays and Fridays are street drag night. They are starting a bracket series this month on Saturday nights. Right now my is running but in the next few months I will switching out motors. I picked up an early model 350 cheap and I am in the process of upgrading it a little before I put it in. I would be willing to meet at the drags or elsewhere if it can work out.

Okay people this sounds like something we just might be able to work out.

I have not seen or heard any dates being identified. I may be out of pocket on travel next week but will be back within the week, ready, willing, and able to support whatever we manage to arrange.

I have been by speed world several times. Never stopped in. I am not sure that I want to race my Elco but am very interested in meeting fellow El Camino owners, swap stories, notes, contacts, etc...

well here is an idea Stake and Shake on wednsday nights they have an oldies nights, all sort of classic cars, this stake and shake is on 50 near Alafaya trail next to the chillis.

well no worries, it happens every weds. night so if you miss one there is always next weds. It happens around 7pm till about 10 pm so there is plenty of time to chill and admire all of the cars. I think it will be cool. We can try for May 11, how does this sound to everyone?

they're so close together, within 5 minutes... we could meet there first, and then those who wish too, could take off for the drags. Eldawg and Jedi were there along with one perfectly restored 3rd Gen, but I don't think that guy is a member here, should be though.

TIME: 7:30ish don't know if anybody is ready to run the drags... I'll be at S&S though... might be raining Wed night anyway, so chk the radar before heading up there. I don't want to get too formal with this, but would like to have a theme from time to time... I know there's really no way to get down & dirty(mechanically) there, but would like to learn how to do more things myself (new rear end, control arms, disassembly of doors, etc...)

7:30ish is doable for me. I will be there with the Elco weather permitting. If the weather does not cooperate, I will roll my GMC truck.

Regardless of the weather, I do not plan to run my Elco at the drag. I think it would be really cool to get to meet some fellow Elco enthusiasts. That's for sure.

FYI the same group meets every 2nd Saturday night at 6:00pm at the "Twisty Treat" 10 minutes east of Steak and Shake at 50 and 419 and 5 minutes from the dragstrip. That's this Saturday, however I am out of town this weekend...

Been trying to shake one heck of a cold for the last week. Seems to be on the way out but this bad boy really knocked me on my you know what.

Forecast calls for no rain on Thursday. Anybody else see that? I usually work on Saturdays.

No, no. My mistake. I read and knew the get-togethers are on Wednesdays at Steak and Shake. Guess I got a bit too focused on the Sunday evening weather report that said no rain for Thursday.

Nothing is going on on Thursday as far as I am aware. I don't make it a habit to pull out the Elco when rain is forecast on account of the countless hours spent thereafter shining up the black paint and chrome.

Other than on this website, to date I have not met any Elco enthusiasts. The main reason of course is directly related to the fact that I keep pulling some real long hours at work. Am sure looking forward to meeting some of the members someday. Thanks for the message.

Obviously, the weather cooperated tonight. Did not pull out the Elco tonight because I got caught up working on my GMC.

I have a few little additions for the Elco that arrived via UPS last Friday. I think I am kind of waiting to put them on before I head out to Orlando.

Once a month on a Wednesday or Saturday would work for me weather permitting of course. Let's see how this thread goes. Thanks.

its comin. got the new 350 in there with a new 2004r hooked up to it and added some nice Hooker Comp. headers and such. gotta get all the fine bits put together and a nice exhaust goin. be workin on it this wekk i hope. hopefully itll be up and runnin soon...i sure do miss my baby. ill meet ya'll as soon as i possibly can.

I just bought a virgin 76 Elky Classic (72k miles) in California and drove it 3000 miles from Sacramento, CA to Titusville, FL in 4 days ! I live in Titusville and would like to get together sometime with other Elky owners.

Great, I'd love to meet you guys. I orginally bought an Elky brand new in 1977 and rue the day that I sold it. I have wanted one ever since. I espacially like the 4th gen and that made it very difficult to fine one for some reason they just don't seem to exist ! When I was a kid (I'm 65 now) the first company I worked for had a brand new 1959 Elky and I put about 50,000 miles on it in two years.

I'll keep an eye here to see whats going on, I'm game for it. Going to be very busy the next couple of months trying to get the 60 ready(or at least driveable) so I can make the spring show with it. We are going to try to make that show "the show" because the weather is nice,we usually dont have any hurricanes in March :lol: and theres something for everyone at that venue!

I realize that it might be short notice for some but I think most will agree it has been a few months since any type of meet and greets or get-togethers were set up or participated in.

Hey guys I just joined up, but I'm only a el camino enthusiast, my real passion is my 1984 Monte Carlo SS, at least its a G-body right? Anyway I'm near lake brantley high school, I work downtown, and I go to UCF. I wouldnt mind meeting up with you guys if you dont mind a monte taggin along. I go to alot of local shows... old town, steak n shake every first saturday of teh month at seminole town center, and orlando sports grill show every third saturday of the month, and other various shows. Chances are you may have seen me runnin around on weekends. I've got teh brightest white monte youve ever seen. I'll show you guys some pics soon.

my buddy has a green 83 elky that he takes when he goes to his dads in orlando if anyone sees it run him down he'd probably be interested in a cruise in. I would too if mine was on the road yet when i get mine heck i may ride over i am about 40 miles away over in leesburg. When you guys find out a definite time and place for a cruise in tell me and i will tell my buddy with the green 83 maybe i can ride over with him.
