Anyody out there with a 4th gen with a blue interior. I have tried to find the cowl tag but can't seem to locate it. Anyone know where to look. All I need is the interior color codes. Any help would be nice

elkyfreak;

The sprint that I bought for my son has the light blue interior. We won't have the truck home for about another month because the fellow that I bought it from is putting new rear side panels in it. :-( In the mean time I just spend my time looking at the Daily Babe's! 8)

I don't know if the sprint uses the same codes or not but if you can't find the code you need I will be able to supply you the GMC code in about a month or so.

GM Generally puts the cowl tag on the cowl. Or right under the front windshield, driver side. Just about 4 to 6" down from the windshield. It is rivited on. So look at the VIN plate with the hood up and go down just a little you should see the tag.

My codes were on the Body Number Plate passenger side cowl (top). If you look at my pic here you'll see where it was on the top portion of the cowl (lighter color square from being removed) http://elcaminocentral.com/modules.php?full=1&set_albumName=Caveman49s-74Elky&id=IMG_0568&op=modload&name=Gallery&file=index&include=view_photo.php
It should say paint on the data plate with some numbers. Blues were Light blue metallic - 24, Bright blue metallic -26, Midnight blue metallic -29, Aqua blue metallic -36.....this was 74 year model. 75-77 went to blue poly's and regular light blue. What year is your ride?

It's got to be an old age thing for me, interior, got it, not exterior. The book I have shows interior trim for a 77 El Camino as Blue 24B, 24C, 24N, 02N, that is both cloth and vinyl. Is this what you're looking for?

I heard that, I call it CRS (can't remember Sh.... I mean Stuff). By the way, the first two codes were for cloth and the last two were for vinyl.

That info should be next to the TR on your data plate.
Bench had an A52, Natch Back Bench has A65, Swivel Buckets AN7. Post your data and maybe we can get you up to speed.

So next to TR if you have a 64N A65 (according to the book I have) your ride would have Trim (Buckskin vinyl-64N) Seat type (Bench w/arm rest-A65)

or yours might be something like 24B (blue cloth) A52 (bench)

glad to help :D

Next to the tr it has 24N AN7 29L 29U then under that it has 09C-- 29041
so the 24N would be my vinyl color, the AN7 is my swivel bucket's and I think the 29L and 29U are exterior paint codes but im not sure. What to you think.

You got it, 29N is Blue vinyl, AN7 swivel buckets, with a 29U(upper) and 29L(lower) Dark Blue Poly exterior paint and 09C is Built month of Sep 3rd week.

Amazing how they do that eh!

they are square clusters but i dont mind putting in aftermarket to make it look nice and new, but i prefer to put what belongs.

it had a/c and the compressor mustve gone bad. it was with the car but the ex owner reported that it does not work. ill find out when i crank it at the end of this month.
thanks for the input!
