News Flash: HOME PLACE: Look! On the road! It's a car! It's a truck! It's an El Camino!

HAGAR

BY SHEILA HAGAR

I used to drive an El Camino and I'm not even sure it's a car.''
Those words come from a song by Scott Krippayne, ``I'm Not Cool,'' and the minute I heard them on my way to work, I knew this would be the day.

  It's El Camino Day.

I've been dinking around with this topic for quite some time, beginning about two hours after the man in my house traded that pretty-boy, useless TransAm for a Caballero.

A Caballero, for those who've never had to think about it, is the GMC version of the Chevrolet El Camino.

And just what is an El Camino? An informal workplace poll revealed many wonder exactly that.

Announcements: Site Status... We're back! Part Two

Admin messagesSite was down due to a hard drive failure as I was copying data from the old server drive to a new backup drive to use in transfering the data to the new server. The old hard drive decided to lockup in progress. Needless to say it was cause for panic as the data had not completley copied over to the new backup drive.

 Announcements: Site Status... We're back!

Admin messagesFinally things are getting back to normal around here. AT&T really fouled us up on this one. After all was said and done they offered me their premium bandwidth service at the rate I was paying before. Not bad actually, and not that we really needed it, but they failed to tell me that it required changing our five static IP addresses to five new ones. Don't ask... I didn't understand the reason either.

 Announcements: Server Update

Admin messagesJust an update concerning contributions for the new server: Without tallying all paypal contributions, money orders and checks mailed in, off the top of my head we are right near our goal of $2000.00 for the new server. (I am actually hoping it is a little more so that we can also invest in a much needed uninteruptable power supply.) Between now and this weekend I will sit down and calculate the total, update members profiles to reflect their contributions, send out thank you notices and post a list of contributors. If the total is the amount needed for the server I will submit the order and have it assembled and shipped. Thank you eveyone for your support! Robert More admin elcaminocentral.com
