I just went to the hardware store and got some threaded rod to make it as long as I needed. The original bolts were too corroded anyway.

They have a range of sizes, brightness, color, etc. plus finished replacement bulbs. I got my LEDs from them for the center brake light.

Was planning on drilling stop holes, tapping it in a little and welding it back together then smooth it all out. Any suggestions there.

That's the way to do it
