Hey all. Am still hoping to come on Saturday.
Thanks tommy for the judging info. Glad to hear that they can only mark me down 25 points for my unfinished bed.
As far as judging sheets, anyone want to do a little dry run self eval on your own car? Not sure which sheet the folks at Chev-El use (Tommy can let us know how close this matches his sheets from last year) but here's a 1000 point judging sheet that LeoC2 hooked us up with a while back http://fullsizechevynatls.tripod.com/id6.html that could be helpful in getting your cars ready.

Just got home from the show and it was GREAT! There's nothing like a parking lot filled with Chevelles and El Caminos. I counted 25 great looking El Caminos at the show. ECC members took home a whole bunch of trophys. Tom got the Peoples Choice trophy plus two others. I took second in my class. Frank from NY took first with his gorgeous 85 Choo Choo. Garry's 75 got a first in his class. Al's 72 SS got a first place as well.
Tom had a very tiny problem in his hydraulic system. Check out the last picture in the album.

Good thing Tom doesn't have a "RAT" motor!!!!
Happy for you all and sorry I missed such a great show. Sounds like a great outing and delighted the weather turned out so much better than forecasted.
Congratulations to all who went!!!

Well Hey Guys, I'll second Mike's congrats. Glad you all did well and ended up with a great day to boot. Good deal. Yeah, you region 2 guys sure put foward some nice looking Elks.
Ernie, thanks for the pics, next best thing to being there. Although, I sure would have loved that show. Maybe next year I'll leave out 4 days early and get a motel after each hour of driving so I can eventually join you guys.
Tommy, forget the addition, you'll need to build a whole house just for all them 'El Bandido' trophies.

Ernie --- thanks so much for the pics
Mike thanks for goin' easy on me and the new mascot
Mark thanks for not even mentioning the mascot
and Everyone.... what a Fabulous show first year about 5-6 Elkys
second year 10 --- this year 25 ! ! ! actually 40% of the registrations (club members do not register)
I say it every year - this is the best show of the year because these guys and these cars are "family" as soon as next years date is announced I will let you all know --- this should turn into the annual meeting of the tribe.
Good people, great cars, excellent event
Congrats to all the winners _________________ Tom

Actually Tom, I forgot about him. He's a cute little guy, but wouldn't be too cute if he ate into anything though. While possible, it's hard to imagine he rode all that way with you guys, must have been a 'Sturbridge' breed.

. Bet your wife was just "speechless" when she found out!! I know mine would have been just hysterical.... Probably would have insisted on a 100 mile cab ride or something.

I agree. It's centrally located for most of us. Great idea Tom! (Guess that's why you're the Regional Leader).
Maybe next year I won't chicken out because of a bad weather forecast.
Later,

I would never criticize anyone for deciding to avoid bad weather... other than a surprize storm on the way home from a show with Mark in Fairhaven - el Bandido has never been out in the rain (I don't even wash it)
However this show means so much to me that I made a conscious decision to drive in the rain Friday afternoon. I wouldn't do that for any other show. -- that's how great a weekend it is and that's my testimony to the guys who run it
Time and date of next years - will be posted as soon as its available.
For now - lets ALL begin making plans to get to Carlisle for the el Camino 50th Annivversary Celebration June 26 - 28, 2009 _________________ Tom

Like everyone said this is a great show! I went last year and did not stay over so this year we stayed on Friday GOOD TIME hanging with car people! All day Saturday I was wishing that we were staying again. So next year I'm going to make a weekend out of it.
It was nice seeing everyone again and a BIG Congrats to all the club members....
Nice Pics Ernie! I'll let you know when I post mine.
Tell next time
