That would depend on you and what you want, as well as the $$$ you want to spend. Springs being less $$$ to spend.

You could also BAG IT!!

haha, I feel like I'm on S10forum.

I like springs better because they will also improve handling. however you are sitting closer to the bumpstops and therefore allow less movement.

spindles bring the entire front suspension, steering arms, everything closer to the ground. but allow the same range of motion the factory did.

I'm personnally using springs, but f you can afford to use both 1" each, you get the best of both worlds.

Not to mention lower springs will screw up the front end alignment. It may be tough getting it aligned properly with a 2" drop. A lot of shops won't even try to align a car with cut / lowered springs.

I did this on my S10 pickup and wore through a set of new tires in under a year, and the front control arms bottomed out on EVERY pothole.

I would go with drop spindles, they keep the stock springs and alignment.

I thought about springs too, but ended up going with Belltech drop spindles. I think it was a 1.5" drop.I was also originally going with a Hotchkis rear bag kit,but instead went with Belltech Nitro Drop shocks.Everything works well, and I have the nose-down raked look

A 2" spring drop should put your suspension in an alignable position. If the money's there, do 1" drop springs and SC&C Stage 2 kit.

My Elky in not a 5th gen, but a 4th gen. I have the 2" lowering springs on mine. Also had no problems with Alignment, but it also has all new front Poly Bushings that also helped with that. Side shots below.

I have a 5th gen (84) and lowered it with shorter springs. Had no trouble getting it aligned. Also I have no tire wear issues. I do like the way the car hangs in on curves and freeway ramps.

Since I installed the drop spindles, a HUGE front sway bar & new shocks my 84 takes corners like its on rails. The stock wheels & tires are still mounted, but I have 17" tires,& when I get the wheels,it should be even better.
