hey guys. i know that i have to shorten the driveline... my measurements tell me i need to chop 2-1/2 inches off of it. does this sound right?

do i need to modify my crossmember? if so, whats the easiest way? im a good welder.

what about the shift linkage? it looks like its a little different, how do i adress that issue?

Let me start by saying I've never done the 200 to 700 swap personally, but many on this site have.

That said, I believe the cross member can be reused, just slide it rearward and drill new holes.

Yes the driveshaft will need shortening. You can weld it, but don't overlook the re-balancing.

As far as shift linkage, they should be about the same (but see disclaimer above).

For hookup of the Throttle Valve for the TH700 (if different from the TH200), there's lots of good documentation on the web. I found most of what I needed at www.bowtieoverdrives.com

Now, if you'll allow me to ask the dumb question....
Besides the 700's 20% lower 1st gear, and slightly better torque handling capacity, the trannys are (performance wise) roughly similar. Why are you upgrading from 2004R to 700R4?

Good luck.
