Ok...so I know I have a low post count and I'm a typical newb asking for info but I'm trying to get the skinny on this El Camino. We were going to part it out a while back but things didn't work out. SO...now things are working out and we want this thing gone.

Thanks for the help in advance:

ST 74 1AD80 B 366946 BDY
TR 714 A65. 59 E PNT
08C20. B. 0852

There's a 2 stamped over the top part of the B on BDY. I don't konw if this means anything or if it's a mis-stamp. Anyone who needs parts for a '74 El Camino, keep your eye open as we'll be posting stuff soon. Happy

The 2 hand stamped on the tag is just some inspection mark. No way of knowing why or for what reason. Probably to show a vehicle was checked for a assembly problem or some other quality control check. These are common.

ST 74 1AD80 B 366946 BDY
ST is short for STyle
74 - 1974 model year
1AD80 - El Camino Classic Pickup Delivery
B - Baltimore Assembly plant ID code
366946 - BoDY serial number assigned by Chevy central office.

TR 714 A65. 59 E PNT
TR is short for TRim
714 - Interior trim code for Light Neutral Cloth seats and matching trim
A65 - Seat type code for Bench with center arm rest
59 - Paint color code for Golden Brown Metallic
E - Vinyl top color code for Cream-Beige
PNT is short for PaiNT

08C20. B. 0852
08C - Production month and week
08 - August
C - 2rd week (3 letter of alphabet)
B - Unknown
0852 - truncated portion of the Data Processing Sequence Number. The broadcast system master record number for this vehicle. It was placed on the tag so plant workers could have something to cross reference back into the system when it came time to release the body onto the final assembly line. The body was built in another area of the complex and sent to a stagging area to be release to the final line under preset work load conditions.

Without the VIN I cannot determine what the engine was.
