1970 el camino, I found a tag in the warranty info. it is alum and appears it was for use on a card swiper of some sort. Here is the info

The plate is called the Protect o plate. It was used for warranty purposes and was usually discarded. Hang on to that! Although I don't have all the info on it, it should have your correct VIN as well as a engine code and date, trans code and date, rear ratio and date. It could also have option codes on it but I'm not sure with yours. Your cowl tag says you have a 1970 El Camino custom built in Baltimore, silver metalic paint. _________________ Jim
