1985. Converted from R12 to R134. Flushed system, replaced accumulator and orifice and new compressor. Evacuated system for about 45 minutes. Added 3 cans of 134. All is working well - making cold air. Gauges Showing 30#'s on low side with idle at 1000 RPM's. All of my other cars show 35#'s but they came with R134 systems. Also, I have water condensate all the way back to the compressor. What is normal low side pressure for conversions?

Thanks Doug. Yes, I used 8 oz of PAG150. Poured about 2/3 into the compressor, the other 1/3 into the accumulator. Turned the compressor over a couple of dozen times by hand before initial startup. The 30#'s seemed like it might be a little low but I didn't want to flood the compressor with liquid. _________________ 77 HD Sportster

25# is just a bit low and 45# is about the limit. So 30# looks OK to me. As long as you don't get too much head pressure and the system is cooling well and not cycling too often, I think you have it pretty much nailed. Good job, enjoy.
