I always wanted a manual so now I'm going to do it!! What I have is a 1985 El Camino (remove the v6 and 200r) Now I need your help in the trans dept. I have the linkage, bell housing from a 78 El. Can I use a hydro clutch? six speed: hmm will it fit ? what about the hole in the floor? I know I need it but how do I determine where?

Thanks for all who reply

Matt

Nate pretty well covered it for you. Lots of reading and good info

As far as locating the hole for the shifter: When you get the tranny in place go underneath with a long punch and hammer. At each corner of the shifter box knock a small dimple upwards.

Go inside and find the dimples and just cut between them. Allow about a half inch for movement on the mounts.
