My speedometer needle is sitting at 20mph when parked therefore reading about 20 mph to high while driving. Is there a way to adjust the needle back to zero or is it just a bad speedo.?

By holding the part in the back of the speedometer that spins, you can rotate the needle back to 0. Your needle might be a little loose on the shaft. As you turn the needle back, put a little downward pressure on the center part in order to let it get a better grip on the shaft. DO NOT TOUCH THE NEEDLE POINTER they are very fragile after 20 some years.

To get to the speedometer is another topic, If you don't know how, use the forum search feature or ask.

Thanks Doug I appreciate that. Yep I know how to remove the gauge. Pretty simple as long as you have small hands/fingers.........lol.

Just a thought, you might not have to remove the whole pod and the speedometer. You should be able to hold the spinning part in back of the speedometer by removing the front bezel and the left vent hose. Remove the clear lens and reach behind the speedometer thru the left vent opening to hold the back of the speedometer and rotate the needle from the front.

+1 That's a very good thought thought Rob. Probably should be done first.

Well I couldn't get my hand to fit in the left A/C vent hole so I just removed the speedometer and turned the needle back to zero. Works great now. Thanks everybody.
