Maybe you folks will get a kick out of it, too!

Another flower car. There is one here in town a little older than that one. Cool

probably don't call it a "flower car" because some people would be creeped out that it was involved in a funeral? (some people... not me) lol

i didnt get "flower car"......OK, as in funeral procession/hearse/family car/flower car. between the stretch limos and the custom celebrity barges you see all the time, you forget there are other-more serious custom coach designs.

Most smaller places would never have them. I think it was more of a Big City thing although I do remember seeing them quite often in the south! Cool

I'm almost positive that is not a flower car. Flower cars had shallow stainless steel beds and usually had stainless steel or brushed aluminum trim surrounding the bed.

Talked to the owner of the late 70's flower car here locally yesterday afternoon. He said the stainless tub and surround is removable. His had it when he bought it from a funeral home in Chicago. The drains for the tub would drain directly into the lower body and cause serious rust problems. He then had the "truck" bed put in. He said a lot of the ones you see have had the same thing done.
Some have 4 doors because they were based on the hearse chassis but others were custom made from 2 door cars thus having a shorter bed but were built with a elcamino type bed. There was a stainless toneau cover that elevated the flowers above the top of the bed. In some instances the casket was even carried on the flower car by request so it was visible to all as the procession went by! Cool

Cadillac did make an El Camino though. Be it just a concept vehicle, that is what it was called. No bed in the back, but obviously a hit with the ladies. Cool

GM PhotoStore images are printed as a matte finish and continuous tone with a full bleed. The images have exceptionally sharp detail at an apparent resolution of 4000 dpi. Note: some images may be cropped to fit print size.

Thats is a exelent lookin car! Reminds me of a 4th gen . Down in Witchita Kansas they are pretty common and some of the local funeral homes have brand new flower cars made from new caddies.
