You probly heard this question, but is there an aftermarket, sporty steering wheel.3-4 spoke, leather, etc.,that bolts right up,or will they all require an adapter hub? What are you guys using that've switched. I like the stock wheel, except that is too thin.I want something more comfortable,& possibly cushioned leather

Everything aftermarket will require an adapter. You are stuck with stock steering wheels if you don't want to use one.

I have to put a new wheel on mine when it's out of paint. The wheel looks great but gets so sticky in the sun from the chemicals coming back out. Common problem here.

Thanks 4 clearing up the adapter hub issue,so I wont look for one w/o it. My wheels fine, except its too thin for my hands to be comfortable.I'd like a thicker wheel, probly leather wrapped.Be nice if I could get one in brown leather.I spose I could wrap the wheel I have now in Wheelskins, but I think I'd like a spoked sporty version instead

Most any GM steering wheel will fit. You can use the monte SS etc. I haven't found a stock wheel that I like and the few aftermarket ones the wheel isn't bad in price but the adapters needed cost as much as the wheel.. You get the adapter and then Oh you want the horn to work too. Some you have to get another kit for that.

I put a grant wheel in my car. Its a very nice pretty thick wheel feels great in your hands. Yes you need an adapter, but its a pretty straight forward and easy install. If you want to see what it looks like here is a link (scroll down a little)....

You can check in my gallery on page 2 on the link below. I think this wheel is from a Camero and its kind of sport. At least better than stock.
And it just bolted on with no kit.

Check out Lecrra steering wheels. They have a dark brown leather available. I bought mine through Honest Charlies and had them order a Teak coloered wheel. It isn't in their catalog (color)but you can have them order it dirrectly from Lecarra with the accessories.

I don't see why it wouldn't fit, as long as you get the proper hub adapter...

We have a Grant GT wheel in ours

the GM corporate sport steering wheel is pretty easy to find on ebay for about $180, and looks pretty good, but does have the same thin rim as any stock wheel of the time. most of the newer aftermarket wheels are also pretty easy to find the same way,and much cheaper than what they are going for new. i got a grant GT like the one above for about $20 with adapter this way. have you looked into any of the newer car wheels? not the ones with all the bells and whistle built in, but there are a few nice ones in cars from the mid to late 80s.
