from reserching i understand theres three diffrent 327's as in a horse power difference, how do i tell which one i have? i think it has a power glide aswell 2 speed : |. its all stock by the way, and i would feel kinda bad if i molested the motor as in puting headers or any thing after market but not really Smile my next question is what would be least expensive and would give me more noticeable power headers, 4bbl carb and intake or... you tell me

thank you

Get your casting numbers, casting dates and suffix codes (to find out how, goto www.mortec.com/locations.htm and www.mortec.com/locatpg2.htm), then goto www.mortec.com to decipher those numbers.

Good luck!

If you have a two barrel carb now a 4 would be most noticeable with the opptions you gave. Head work, cam are other options.

yes i do have a 2 barrel, a four barrel would give me more power compared to headers?, i would also have to put a intake on it too right for a four barrel? from the look of things it might be cheaper to buy a brand new motor rathere then build this one up, becouse eventuly little by little i want this 327 to touch 350 to 400 hp then throw a blower on it.

copy and past to see what i mean

There's lots more than three different 327's. A guy tried to sell me a "high-performance" 327 once. After research the block numbers I discovered it was used in a school bus.
