Ok Tommy, I'll bite. But first let me stipulate that I am never quiet, just ask my dog.
Congrats Garry....
PS- You said anything goes, so lets talk about MNunn....
Just now seeing this post. LOL!!!!!
Unfortunately, Mark. As you see by the zero bites on your attempt to agitate, MNunn's not a very hot discussion topic
Let's see now.....Tom says Hot topics of any kind. Politics? Gas Prices going up, then coming down? Stock Market?
Naw.
How about Region 2 Owners' preps for the Elky 50'th Anniversary at Carlisle (now only about 7-8 months away). On line $30 registration in the 50'th Anniv Forum.
I'd sure LOVE to go. All I have to do is rebuild both my engine and tranny this Winter.
Mark, if you start heading there about Feb, you could get there by showtime. You really should consider going. Did you notice that 72 Elky's took 1st, 2nd and 3rd place at the 2008 All GM Nationals with expanded Elky Classes? Go give those other 72 owners a run for their money.
Anyone else in the region considering going?

Thought you'd never notice that little dig Mike, but glad you did. And yes, I thought it would be good for at least four pages of dialog about you.....
50th?, yeah, you know I'd absolutely love to be part of that. Hope all you guys make that one. There's a lot of beautiful Elks in region 2, would make for a really sharp caravan. Sure you guys would stand with the best of em.
PS-Feb. leave Mike? Maybe right after my Granddaughter opens her gifts on Christmas morning I'll head out. That'd be an awful lot of motels though...hundreds of em.
Go for it guys, should be a really great event. Please take a ton of pics.

Thanks guys for pickin up the dialogue... And the 50th Anniversary at Carlisle is perfect ----- we ALL need to begin to make plans for this trip.
I am already registered... Heidi and I have been planning to go since before registration openned.
Mike - I do believe you can get it done by the end of June.
Mark - We gotta figure a way to get you and Prem I there.
I am sure that most of you are in mothballs already - I was out for a 3 hour ride last weekend - I just can't batten down the hatches until the first salt goes down on the road.
the one good thing about winter - is it gives you plenty of time to get ready for spring (and kibitz around hear on ECC) _________________ Tom

Sure am hoping so. Dropped the block off at the machine shop yesterday. Picked up a forged crank for peanuts. Hoping to have the engine reassembled by early January.
TH700R4 tranny's a different story. Collecting info now. Will start the rebuild in ernest in January. I'm sure I'll be posting (and "begging" alot) in the tranny forum. Since this'll be my 1st A/T rebuild, if anyone (Besides Mark) feels like offering free advice on do's and don'ts or even willing to drop by and provide some expert insights, they'd be more than welcome. "Misery loves company" the saying goes.
Bottom line: 1 month to rebuild the engine. 1 month to rebuilt the tranny. 4 more months to fix all the self-induced problems with the tranny and I should still be able to make it to Carlisle.
Buy your gas for the trip now though. $2.03 per gallon for premium as I type this.
Wow! Whood a Thunk?
Tom: Is there a date conflict between 50th at Carlisle and the RI All Chevy Show (Usually late June)? If so, there's likely going to be a smaller crowd at all Chevy in 09. _________________ 70 Elky (Non-SS) 454CID, TH700-R4

hey Mike,
After seeing the schematic for the TH700R4, I am planning to visit your garage in January - I cant wait to see what it really looks like inside that housing. Although I might not be of any technical assistence I am pretty good at moral support.
I am really glad to hear you have a goal set for the el Camino 50th Anniversary trip to Carlisle I would love to begin to hear from more members who are planning to make the trip
The RICOA - All Chevy Show is always a great show (when its dry) and it is always the last weekend in June - so it does in fact coincide with the el Camino 50th Anniversary at Carlisle. The RICOA Show is every year this 50th Anniversary at Carlisle is the one and only so ........
Hey all YOU GUYZ - Happy Thanksgiving _________________ Tom
