That connector was available at one time. I have never used one so I never kept up on them. Now I do know that the individual terminals for the conector are available.
As for a good manual I can't help you there for a good electrical manual for our cars I really can't help you.
The consumer grade generic manuals are good for some things. The "factory" (actually owner) service manuals are Ok and still very generic and even a one year manual has carryovers from earlier years. Every time I look at a "helm" manual I find misleading missing and often just flat wrong information.
Often you see the well we don't have a pic of the G-bod door so we'll put a B-bod one in there. ETC. There is almost nothing for the el camino specific items that you really need to know.
Often the best way to figure out GM wiring if it isn't listed for your vehicle.. Look up the same system in a book for another vehicle of similar year and it *may* have more info. The one thing I really like about GM is that they have a wiring standard to a point. Wire colors and funcion are the same from car to car over decades even. Other brands like starting with a C don't even have wiring diagrams or brands that start with an F change their wire colors from one day to the next on the line. If the harness guys ran out of blue they would start using lime green wire.
If you want a good service manual you have to buy an airplane. _________________ Robert Adams
