Hello,
The bulbs in both my tail light housings spin in their sockets, so they don't make contact with the wiring harness. I took the housing out and cannot see how the "bulb socket" can be replaced??? It looks like a "ring was pressed around an upset shoulder" with no intention of it ever being able to be replaced. Anyone out there know how to replace the bulb sockets? Thanks, Russ
Welcome to ECC Russ, you are probably right about the housing. I would think an aftermarket socket could be mounted in some way. Other than that, you could buy a new housing from one of the repro houses. _________________ Jim

I called NPD today and they told me the new housings don't have bulb sockets in them and they don't make the bulb socket that fits them. (I sse that you have a 70 yourself, have you ever taken out the rear turn signal housing and seen how they made it? It looks to have a pressed ring around the socket for a permanant/no change socket. I may drill them out and put in the standard plastic "clip" type. They're easier to work on. Thanks for the input Robert.

I was not aware of that. I had a look at OPGI's book and, although it is not clear, it looks like the socket is there without the contact part. Not sure why. Good luck with it. _________________ Jim
