Cool Posted this under electrical a couple of months ago and had about 75 people look at it and no replys - hopefully somebody knows . . .

1986 Elky. When I got it 2 months ago, the Cruise Control worked fine - but now it does not. There is no blown fuse at the fuse block - is there and inline fuse and where is it? Could there be something else wrong? Any help here would be appreciated and thanks!

I've read the article recommended above, but it doesn't answer the situation I have: namely, my cruise control surges and falls off constantly. On a perfectly level road at a constant speed, it is perpetually speeding up or slowing down by a mile an hour or so.

Anyone have a fix for that condition?

Dave

Actually at the bottom of the article it does:

Conclusion:

After twenty plus years of diagnosing and repairing these systems, I have found the cruise switch to be the most common failure. Next in order of failure rates would be brake switch and/or adjustment, servo cable adjustment, vacuum system problems, (missing or broken lines, leaking reservoiur etc.) Then V.S.S, servo, module, and wiring.

Check servo cable adjustment and your vacuum system.
