The PPG auto glass shop remember Van Masters being there but had not usable information. The original color was black with a stripe with 3 shades of silver down the sides, the name SHADOW on the lower door in italics, shadow & sketch of a mountain on the tail gate, the center of the hood had lines with 3 shads of silver & on the dash is an emblem with shadow, a mountain sketch & 9 of 100 on it. I did an off frame & painted it red some 30 years ago & now I'm wanting to put the original colors back on it. The only picture I have of it is 32 years old and in my head. Didn't take pictures of it before removing all the paint. I have contacted other Elcamino clubs from Florida to California & no one has seen an Elcamino Shadow. I've been in the paint & collision repair industry for 42 years. Was Collision & Paint instructor @ a tech center for 23 years before retiring. A picture would really be helpful. If nothing else I'm sure this made interesting reading. 79Shadow.

This is all new to me. Was talking to a member from Key West @ the Lakeland show on 10-17-15. Was asking him for any information he might have on my 1979 Elcamino SHADOW. There was 100 of the 1979 Elcamino's sent to Van Masters, 1529 Alum Creek Dr., Columbus, Ohio. I found the build slip in the head liner when I was replacing the head liner. That's where I got the address for Van Masters. I have had the Elcamino for 32 years & while on a road trip across the USA in 2003 I went to Columbus Ohio, found Van Masters & found the Van Masters shop & also found out that it had been closed for over 10 years. I am over the word limit. Will do second post to finish this short story.
