Quick weatherstripping question

i replaced the window felts, door strips, and roof rail strips on my 78 this weekend and now i'm having a amor brain fart when adjust the window to fit the new strips.

should the glass roll up into the middle of the strips or be flush against the outside of the strips when rolled all the way up. I can't remember now and of course i didn't pay close attention before i removed the old ones. I was just too excited!


if someone can set me straight that would be great, thanks guys!

Think it has to be flush with the outside for when you close the door with the window up.

Just looked at mine. It nests into the groove at the top.

How much did that set you back if you don't mind my asking?

DDD- the kit i used was from dixie Monte Carlo (link below). came with the inner and outer felts, door and roof rail strips for both doors and the tailgate strips, both vetical and horizontal. also came with glue from 3M, but i wasn't too impressed with it. the weather strips were soff seal brand and the felts were precision brand.

cost for the kit was $214. cost for additional supplies like a plastic scraper, goo-gone, and such was about 15 bucks, time cost was a solid weekend.

getting the old stuff out and scraping the channels clean of old glue was a major pain in the butt. it took much longer and was more difficult than expected. application of new stuff really smooth once i figured out how the glue worked and the strips actually fit just like OEM. I was impressed with the soff seal products. felts were fair, they dont contact the window all over but they look pretty sharp. it turned out pretty good all said and done though, just tedious work.
