Default Hot Rod Power Tour 2013

is it too early to bring this up? any interest this year? here are cities and dates

Saturday June 1: Arlington, TX
(but you knew that already, right?)
Sunday June 2: Texarkana, AR
(Texarkana is a city in two states, half Texas, half Arkansas.)
Monday June 3: Little Rock, AR
(Ever heard of the “Climber Motorcar”? It’s the only car ever manufactured in Arkansas. Maybe we’ll see one!)
Tuesday June 4: Memphis, TN
(Elvis and BBQ, what more do you need?)
Wednesday June 5: Birmingham (Hoover), AL
(The Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum is worth a visit!)
Thursday June 6: Chattanooga, TN
(The home of Coker Tire, you can expect a warm welcome here.)
Friday June 7: Charlotte, NC
(If you don’t know why Charlotte, NC is a cool place for car fans, you might be reading the wrong website.)

Default Never too early!

I've been considering meeting the Tour at Memphis (been wanting to visit Elvis) and then do a slow cruise to Charlotte.
Definitely planning on doing the full Tour for 2014 as it'll start at Charlotte and probably come south.
The 2011 Tour was a blast, specially following you guys in my mother's Corolla, will never forget gassing up next to Neil and putting in half the amount of gas, always good to have a plan B.

i was thinking along that line as well, except that with the starting point being in texas i assume a lot of the texas boys will be onboard for 2013, which would be fun. though i think it would be MORE fun if some of the florida gang were on the road too.

it's 6mos away - which creeps up on you faster than you might think!

We were at the kickoff in Arlington back when they started there last time. That was the 1 where Christopher Titus filmed a special. If you saw that show, you saw my T. For a few seconds. From a distance. A great event, by the way. We drove with them as far as Ardmore.

The wife is talking about allowing me to go this year, comes right through fort smith, my only problem is to drive the grabber or the 54, neither are really mpg friendly, but the elky is nowhere near pretty enough for a long interstate cruise with all those show cars .............

I posted the info about the power tour to the region 7 members, did noy get much of a reply. I thought this would be a great way to have a meet and greet since it goes all over our region. Hope we can make something happen.

Thumbs up Power Tour 2013

I've been considering it Ed, but my plates already pretty full, as I'm going to try to make several of the 2013 10th Anniversary Celebrations next year. Maybe if we can schedule one of those in Charlotte, for dates within a day or two of when the Power Tour comes through. Show cars???? Some guys deliberately drive a "turd" just to be different. Some of them were barely road legal (some no doubt were not road legal).

I'm gonna give thought to showing up at Charlotte. My Sister lives in Huntersville, just a stones throw from Concord Mills Blvd. that goes to the speedway. If we can turn this into some kind of multi-regional meet, that would be awesome!

If anyone wants to come for the kickoff, I have a spare bedroom in Cedar Hill. No charge. If you're "just folks," and aren't allergic to cats, and don't smoke in the house, it would be a good deal. We're something like 25 miles from the stadium.

Stops 5,6,7 are enough for me, should I be able, that would be a great run for for a group ??? effort.
