Looks Like I have a new project. Took the truck out to fill the tank and get the wife subway. Pulled out on the highway after it warmed up and transmission is slipping horribly.
I sort of seen this coming. This thing has always had a phantom buck/surge/shift stacking, I couldn't never pin point it b/c it would only do it everyonce in awhile. Fluid is full, in fact a month ago it was bucking while cruising and I thought maybe it was just low on fluid, the line only show like less than half a quart low, never had a transmission be this sensitive to fluid level, so I top it off and it seemed to go away for awhile.
I think it is just high mileage and sending 450 ft lbs though it probably kicked it over the edge. So I'm calling around today and see if I can get a ballpark on a rebuild.

Update, tried adjusting the band (th 250 c). Got all excited b/c it seemed to work ok, let it cool then took it back out. Fail!!! Seems it is at the point where it just wants to get my hopes up and stomp on them. Got qouted 500 for a rebuild.....Just going to save and buy an upgraded th 350 and be done. Sooo not in the mood to pull the transmission. Atleast my heater works now :/

Thanx, It's actually primer though. I know... white primer... A few years ago I bought the kirker paint system that came with primer/paint/ ect and I ordered white, so the primer was white too. I still haven't actually painted the car yet. It is still pretty rough in some spots. I need to do some sanding on the joint on the drivers side quarter, the rockers really need replaced but I'm at the point where I just want to drive it, it's becoming a bit of a beater rod for me.
As soon as I get this running again I have another project (2002 mustang gt) I want to start, but I need this as my daily driver first. I've built thi thing to drive and drive and drive, I plan on driving it for years to come and keep the mustang in the garage staying nice and pretty and rust free. Now I just need a new transmission

Harbour Freight cheapo. Yeah I have a similiar compressor, should work fine. I bought the external regulator/water seperator, and get one of those water seperator balls for the end of your gun and you should be good to go.

I don't remember the gun being this cheap but it looks like mine. I works for primer, not sure about paint, but it has a smaller nozzle for paint in the kit that I got.

[QUOTE=Magus;446658] I also need to lift the whole car up an inch, I have some rubbing issues up front with the 235's.QUOTE]

I put 225 x 17s on the front of mine and had a littlle rub - even with new shocks - when I went over a good dip in the road. Amazingly, when I put on Jounce and Grand prix bars in the front, the rub went away. It looks like there is enough flex in he stock frame to allow some distortion when it's stressed.

BTW, great work on the project. It's looking good.

I'd believe it, seems like the g-body is a bit floppy. I think if I got up 3/4 in the front and put air shocks in the back it should be pretty good, and the drop I think will look just as good. I got too much tuck anyway.

Summit also sells duct that you can connect it with, but I/m sure the hardware store would have something useable.
With my electric fan set up the car hits operating temp in like 10 -15 minutes in 30 degree weather. Heats up rather fast. One of the best mods was ditching the pulley driven fan.
not bad at all!
right now Im looking at a big clunky air box that I will probably never use the AC on again, a bad heater core, and a bad blower motor...
Thinking an extra $50 (over the purchase price of the core and motor) and this would clean things up nicely. I guess if you think about it, air ducting is air ducting, I would assume some metal tape and a good quality dryer duct tube would get the air to the defrosters in the dash...

Yeah, it does the job and no more massive ac box covering half the engine on that side. I have it blowing out under the glove box and it heats up fast, I don't even need to connect it to the vents. But if ya did it would blow on the floor and windshield by default.
