Default Great to meet you all! 1972 El Camino 350 but how do I find out further??

Awesome to have found the El Camino Forum, super cool! I would love to tell you all about my Elky but honestly I'm not quite sure what I have on my hands as yet. I bought the car advertised as a 1972 El Camino... as plain and vanilla as that! But since it has no emblems I have no idea if maybe it's a 350/SS, or what have you... I also still have to look if the numbers match on the block as well. I got a great deal on her, so any added perks I discover would just be icing on the cake. How can I find out this information? Can i type my vin in on a website somewhere and all the information gets sperted out to me that easy, or do I need to go on a quest to find all the spec's of the vehicle? Any insight appreciated!

Welcome from south florida....you have deff found the place for an questions you may have. There are alot of great guys on here. About the vin.. http://www.decodethis.com/..this place gives you Basic information about the vin...If you want to know about the packages you vehicle may be..you need to check either your build sheet or the metal tag under the hood on the drivers side...that part takes a bit of research..hope this helps

Thanks for the welcome guys... well unfortunately I think this elky has been ransacked during its lifetime a bit as there is not an identification or informational tag of any sort to be found anywhere! Thus my delema... not one drop of documentation came with the car either. I'll try typing that VIN code in though and see what I get! Thanks!

Car looks sweet, here's a link with a lot of good info, should be able to find what year yours is. The ID tag is under the hood on the top of the cowl on the driver side, that's where it usually is anyway.
