Default floor boards

I have a 73 and currently just about to finish riveting small patches in. I know that riveting is frowned apon but being a senior in high school and not knowing welding that great it was my best option plus they were only about 4x4, patches needed. But my real question is what should I use as a coating to keep it all sealed. I was thinking about using a form of bed liner anyone have a better idea?

I already am. I got a tube of it and already applied to one side around the seam of the new panel overlap. But anything else I also used spray on rust converter by rustoluim that really work that well ?

Get a quart of Dupli-Color brush on bedliner, and coat the patches on both sides. holds up so well, it made my floors waterproof. See!

You may consider using a metal-bonding adhesive. It's as strong as a weld if done correctly, does not require any grinding and is corrosion-proof if all bare metal areas are covered with the adhesive. I have done this on several projects and have had great success. Even filled holes on the bed rail of my dad's pick-up and put body-filler over the top. That was over 10 years ago and still no evidence that it will fail. The downside is that the adhesive is expensive and usually requires a special dispenser. Good luck.

I used to use aresol undercoat when I did stuff that way... Im hoping this is just a temporary repair until you can have them welded in correctly

That's an actual picture, NOT a photoshop. I parked it on the new asphault at work, at the auto auction, on the only spot in 99 acres that held water like that (no one knew that until this happened, they made the paver come back in and fix it). Story of my life! The water was actually about 1 inch below the floorboards, until we used a pushtruck to push it out of there to high ground, then it looked like the tide was coming in, but the floors didn't leak.

Very good product. Most recently I used it on the new floorboards in my 66.

But be careful, if exposed to sunlight UV, the black will turn a little milky-

exposed areas need another coat of paint - which, of course, POR-15 sells too

por 15 is good as it will coat everything but it wont seal the two pieces of metal together like undercoat will
