While backing the 59 out of the garage this morning, my brake pedal decided to go to the floor, and being on a hill of sorts, was not fun, no cars coming either way, and nobody was parked across the street luckily, I dodged some major damage. So now time to hunt down the solution, wheels are not wet with fluid, and nothing underneath
wish me luck !!

Glad to hear you didn't have a major tragedy. Consider it good luck you found out about the problem the way you did.

Very lucky nothing worse then the feeling when the brake pedal goes to the floor. Had it happen in down town traffic. At my age I thought it was the big one. Glad you didn't hit anything.

glad to hear its only going to be a trouble shooting problem and not a body repair...or a major seat cleaning lol

X-2 on master cylinder(internal leakage) , in which case a little quick pumping will get brakes to grab. Good to know stuff like this before you need to. On a rarely driven vehicle age affects some things before wear or mileage. Changing brake fluid ever few years is a goog idea. Now if I can only find out what I did with my Mitivac tool?

Had that happen to me just as I was getting home from work once. I was 5 ft from the parking curb when I blew a flex line to a front caliper. replaced them both, and immediately blew the MC while pumping the brakes to bleed them. some days you're the windshield, other days the bug

Looks like I'll be replacing the MC, or rebuilding. Filled reservoir but could not see any leakage. Pedal still just goes to the floor. It being lasted for 54 years, I won't complain.

The Elky just seems to know how to break at the right time. It's their way of saying thanks for all the hard work. Every breakdown I've had has been well placed.
