Default SBC 350 Modifications

I have a sb 350 that I am going to put into my 1984 Caballero. It is completely disassembled and the only part I don't have is the crankshaft. I was wondering if anyone could recommend any things that I should consider when rebuilding this and any other upgrades I should do to create alot of horsepower on a budget. Thanks

It really depends on your budget. You have to consider the cost of just rebuilding/re-assembling your engine ( Gaskets, rings, bearings, machining, etc). Beyond that, your HP gain is in direct relation to how much you want to spend.

Give us some budget parameters, and I'm sure others will chime in with suggestions. No need to give you suggestions that will cost $5000 when your budget might be less.

What year 350. I'd go with a pre 76 head fer shure, or later vortec style.

it depends on what you call alot of horsepower..
if you need a crank?? and you have to bore it??
might as well get a 383 kit.. its about the same price and it seems there getting cheaper..
used roller cams and heads can be found,, saves some moneys..

get the numbers off the block and heads and run them,, see where your starting from..
