Glad we planned to get a new rear end anyway!
How could I have been driving with it like that?

About a year ago, it made a loud clunk once and felt like I drove over a bunch of small bumps all at the same time. Could that have been that? YIKES!! I'm just glad we decided to go with a new rear end!
Actually, it was longer than a year ago, and it only did it once-never again.

It's been a year this week since all the problems began! Less than 800 miles on Carlos in a YEAR!! You know I'm going to make up for lost time when Ralph and Steve get it all done!!

Default The saga of Carlos continues

Ok, I hate to be the one, but this is what I found after taking the trans front pump apart to replace the bushing that was marred by the PM

Now for the money, see the crack in the front pump housing?

I wish I was making this up.

texas "crunch" elcamino, creating more shrapnel than the german army did in WWII!

Takes real talent to break a trans with no engine in the car.

Hey Terry, its a good thing these things are getting gone through. I did a trans and engine swap so all left to do is the posi.
Im already working on the interior and other upgrades as Im typing this...Keep pushing because at the end of the day,you will not have a wore out truck. You'll have a pure show and go ride.
Btw,Thanks for the A/C delete plate for my rat...

Ok boys and girls,,,it is one month to go,, time to gear up for the home stretch,,perhaps a little bio to persuade me would be in order\\ a post stating who and why should get the busted knucle award.
As of today there are 4 that come to mind,,,in no specific order ,,they are
1. Scottm-electrical nightmare
2. DDD-constantly working in the streets
3. Rushgator-broken ball joint, damaged very nice truck
4. Texaselcamino-terry- drivetrain issues continue
5. ???
If i am leaving someone out please remind me,,,remember entry deadline is 3-15-2013
And will be presented to the not so lucky--winner-- at Belton 3 Good Luck to all the finalists.

I've been holding out a few pics, here is the detent cable Terry installed. It was burned to the header, and stuck, I had to cut it to remove it.
Here is a fuel line splice done by PM.

Here is the distributor, on the left, note it only has 800 miles since Terry got it back from PM. Dizzy on right is the one she is getting.
lets not forget the cracked and galled trans front pump, the broken cooler fitting, the stripped out trans mount bolt holes...

And the busted 7.5 diff
