its a 70 ss el camino 396 here is the trim tag : st 70-13680 bl 03808 tr 758 28-8 04b 644177100111 ether way if its not ss i believe im going to do it. ![]()

Nothing on the car (anywhere) will tell you if it was originally a super sport. To document that, you would need a build sheet (if one exists) or some sort of original dealer paperwork. I have read that the RPO codes can be on the protecto-plate, but I have never seen one with the codes. That was used for warranty and is usually long gone. Some however are still tucked in the owners manual. Bottom line, if they are advertising it as a SS and can't document it, don't pay extra.
