Exclamation Steve & Patty Need Assistance

There are very few members of our Association who have stepped up and helped other members or the Association like Steve and Patty Gilbreath. Patty has assisted the Director’s office on various projects and helps every year at Belton. Steve recently was awarded an “Exceptional Action” award for his many assists provided to other members in Region 13. One of those assists was removing a member’s El Camino from the flooded remains of her home. His attitude has always been “Have Trailer, Will Travel” when it came to members in need. And I believe that I’m safe in saying that no other couple has ever been married at an NECOA event (Belton) at a ceremony officiated by an NECOA member (Keyser Sose)!

Steve proudly served his Country as a United States Marine. Now, he and Patty are in need of our assistance. As many of you know, Steve just last week suffered a stroke, and is now in long-term rehabilitation. He still has paralysis on his left side. The long term care will resolve itself – it’s in the short term that we can help them get through this devastating time in their lives. Please go to: https://www.gofundme.com/steve-patty-need-assistance
to help them out.........

I've been here 6 years and have read numerous times where Steve or Ralph have dropped everything to help a member no matter how far or what time of day or night it was no questions asked. There's not many true friends or people like them left in this world so'

There are stories all over Texas and beyond of people helped by these two members. Did I mention that Steve proudly served our Country as a United States Marine?...............Ken

Outstanding Ken. Both Steve and Patty have always been willing to step-up when another member needed help. I'm sure the Go Fund Me account will allow our NECOA family to repay some of the kindness they've shown to so many over the years.

And, thank you for your efforts on their behalf.

Is go fund me the best way to go? If goal is not met, then we have to start all over. I think. I'm not real familiar so it may be best way. Just asking.

They take 8% of every donation right away. I hate paying fees $5000.00 - 8% = $460.00 I will get in touch with Patty and send her a check.

Arrow Always Disadvantages..............

There's different disadvantages to about any way I've tried to arrange. But NO, we do NOT have to begin again if the goal is not reached. And, yes, GoFundMe takes approximately 8 percent off the top of any donations - services cost money these days, and I hate to give up anything from any funds collected for Patty & Steve, but I'm not able to monitor the website, PayPAL account, and other factors for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They can! Patty and Steve deserve the best we can do for them, and anyone who is turned away because of the GoFundMe page, you still have my eMail, kenrogers1@sbcglobal.net , and can still reach me for alternatives. I do not want them to lose one cent because of what may be seen as unpopular moves or actions on my part........................Ken
