14.4 is fine at the alt..

"Stop Lamp 12v" would be the white wire at the brake light switch to the column,,
it powers the brake lights and goes hot when you hit the brakes..

I have a couple questions...

1. I'm pretty sure this is the brake light switch you're referring, correct?

2. If so, the empty connector space shown in the photo was what the old vacuum controlled cruise control ran to. I removed that. But I was thinking I could run the TCC brake switch to one of the pins where the cruise used to be. It seems like they would serve the same function. Does that make sense? I still have the old plug.

yes, that is the brake light switch,
and it has 4 terminals, so its a combonation switch for brake and TCC [torq conv clutch]
the orn and white are brake lights
and the 2 open terminals are for the TCC

the brake light side is a normally open switch..
the TCC side is a normally closed switch..
thats were the purple TCC wire goes normally for power..
