Irwindale just started running on Friday nights so I'm going to check it out and try a couple of runs upping the two step to 4500 with the trans brake and see what the truck does. Will advise!!!!!

Got to the strip last night by myself I really didn't feel to enthused but thought I would do a couple of runs trying to better my reaction time. Did my first run same as always same results so instead of getting back in line I went back to my pit area parked it and went to watch some of the other cars run. A few of the guys at the track came up to me and asked why I wasn't in line taking advantage before the crowd comes? I thought about it hum go home or run another then leave. My best 60 ft. was 1.513 and not improving why run??? I thought to myself I like doing this and practice is the only thing that's going to show results if I'm at my best or just not going to get it so live with it.

I'm not a quitter BAMM back to back new 60ft. best. I'm not really sure if from a 1.513 to a 1.499 then 1.498 is a big deal but it sure felt great!!!!! I re-tuned the carb and changed to a 4500 RPM Trans-Brake Launch from 4000 RPM.

Fontana was a blast but hot and humid so the trucks best was 11.0 in the 1/4. Dale, Gale, Brad & Ted showed up for support and make a great crew. After taking off the hood anything we touched on the truck burned. Dale's always thinking and we need to isolate the carb by fabricating a box so all that can get into the carb is cold outside air off the windshield. My hood is not a cowl hood it just has a 4 inch scoop.

D & R Racing at it's best.
Dale has the vision and with some help I'm ready to do some grinding and painting then install a new shifter stand. $12.00 in material and a day to build.

We left some room for future switches to mount on the plate.

Installed a new steering column, shifter stand with switch plate just need to clean up the floor tunnel and install two new switch lights that burned out. Last I need to hook up the fuel return line and we're back in business. I will be running at Irwindale this Friday night.
