Goodmark makes a steel cowl hood. You can get it at Honest Charleys for about 450 bucks!

Default cowl hood

Chevy777,In case you are still looking for advise,I have a fiberglass 2 in. hood on my 87 El Camino. It was purchased through Honest Charlie. It looks great and quality and fitment was excellent. The only drawback I see to the fiberglass hood is when doing around 75 to 80 mph the front corners of the hood shake some.It is not a big deal and was solved when I installed hood locks that are available from places like O.P.G.I.,Honest Charlie,J.C. Whitney etc.If I had to do it over I would purchase a steel hood with vent holes in the rear of the cowl next to the windshield for air and venting.I did not realize mine was not vented until it was installed by the shop I had it shipped to.I have not drilled any vent holes and I am reluctant to until someone tells me it is ok and they did it.Hope this helps. p.s. Take your time and get a friend or two to help you.Having it slip and hit your windshield would not be pretty. The clearance of the end of the cowl , windshield and wipers is very close so keep that in mind.
