Comet is good. I use Softscrub and a brush for my white letters.

Honest to God Steve, I was singing that song before I scrolled down and saw you had posted the words!
I learned about using Comet on whitewalls from my Grandpa when I was a kid. Still use it!

Westley's Bleche-Wite works best. Very little effort and is not abrasive, which means no little scratches for dirt to lodge in.

That's what i use - go around all 4 tires, by the time you get back to #1, hit it a few strokes with a good stiff brush - rinse it off - looks like a brand new tire. . .Great stuff. . .

Steve! Why would YOU ruin their aluminum wheels just because they got Westley's on them?

SOS Pads works as good as comet. The other thing we use is CASTROL Super Clean Just have to spray on and rinse off in approx a minute.

i use WD-40 on the whites. i always have several cans around and it will act as a conditioner on the sidewall. just spray on and scrub with a clean cloth. and it wont tarnish, scratch, or damage anything.

Default Clean white letters

I know this is an old post but here is something to try out.
I use Westleys and 400 grit wet/dry emory paper. Works great. BRIGHT white letters and/or whitewalls. Been doing it this way since the 60's.
