Its kind of hard to know without seeing the tag. Just those codes without knowing where on the tag they are located could have different meaning. The tag on the cowl is called the Body Trim tag and will have model, assembly plant, paint and trim and some option info that Fisher Body built. It will not include all options, some of which were later installed by Chevrolet.

Can you post a pic? Or at least type everything that's on the tag exactly in the format it appears?

I have a Late Great Chevy's judging book that gives a lot of information BUT to be honest much info on these old Chevy's not documented and much false data exists.

That tag has been attached with non-original fasteners, it should be rivets. That tag may not be original to that vehicle, its been removed and there is no way of knowing if the vehicle its on now was the vehicle it left the St Louis assembly plant on!

Info on these ACC. codes are not published anywhere. I suggest you contact Jersey Late Greats, see link below. They have done much research on this but for fear (and good reason) that knowledge would lead to bogus trim tags increasing the value of cars, they will only offer a decoding service for a fee.

My judging guide does not list anything, just says "meanings not known at this time".

I can tell you what the rest means if you don't already know that?

Thanks, Mike! I had seen the info about the decoding service somewhere else as well and will follow up with them. I understand what you are saying about the non-original fasteners making the tag suspect. Some discreet scraping of the current baby blue paint on the door jambs does reveal white which would conform to the paint code and the 4C code seems to jibe as the car appears to be an a/c car with the correct controls. The dash is gray--which seems to me could be consistant with the indicated gray vinyl interior-- but I think I've seen somewhere that most/all were that color?

I sure appreciate the help, Mike! Have a good one...
