Will the transmission tunnel from a 68-72 Chevelle fit the same year of El Camino? I know the floor pans are different, but I'm not sure about the tunnel.

Not sure why this was moved from the Body Restoration forum, but if it helps me get an answer, I'm all for it.
Anybody done this swap before? I'm looking to undo the hole caused by my manual conversion, and the Chevelle parts seem to be in better supply. |

I would think that one from a Stationwagon would be a better fit and probably an exact fit. But I don't know the differences between the tunnels so I am just guessing.
I am pretty sure that year Elky was off of the Stationwagon base so I would feel comfortable saying that the Stationwagon would fit. If not I am sure someone will call me on it. ![]() 1968-72 front section, LH / RH, measure 32" long x 30." wide Fed Ex $ 49.95 ea http://www.goodmarkindustries.com/HomePage.html I guess the chevelle would work.
