Default rolling in park

my t/400 transmission works great in all the gears but as soon as i put it into park i can roll the car forward and back, does the whole trans need pulled apart to replace the parking pin or is they're another option?

Try adjusting the linkage first, remove the arm and ensure its in park before you take it apart

Sounds to me as if it never gets to park.

Put the shifter in park and block the tires.
Jack up front and put on stands leave key in so you can move shifter
have 1/2 in & 9/16 with you.
Slowly take the bolt that holds the shift rods in place loose (not off)
put on transmission side to till it stops
tighten bolt check for park.

The park mechanism of a TH400 is very simple and not usually prone to failure. The likely problem is a bind or obstruction in the shifter or linkage that doesn't allow the shift lever(the link on the side of the trans) to cycle completely into the park position. Removing the pan will expose the entire park mechanism. No removal or disassembly of the trans required.
