Bought the 74 Elcamino today that is supposed to be an original SS. It has SS on the dash, has it on the steering wheel also. There are 2 big round gauges for the speedo and the tach, also small round gauges for the gas etc. They have black faces. The engine is a 454 with a turbo 400. All this leads me to think it is an original SS but not completely sure, will look for build sheet as I work on it. Also, lucked out and it had an aluminum GM intake manifold laying inside off of a 72, part number 6269318, whats it worth? Thanks

Pretty sure the 454 was ONLY available with the SS package

If it is the original engine (and it might show up in the VIN) it is an SS

Hey Coupeman33,

Welcome from the big island downunder.

Please a reply so you can knock down them there "5 posts barrier" .....cause you can't pm another forum member for info until you do, or you just scamming......

But you can post in parts wanted without the 5 post rule to get want you need. But be careful, it might change ..

Over here the indiginenous people of our land call it "secret mens business."

The "cars for sale" forum just might be a good place to post. Tagging on to a seven month old thread about a fourth gen that a fella bought may work though.
