Default Sub install

Anyone know if I can safely run two 200 watt rms 4ohm subs wired in parallel (making it 400 watts at 2 ohms) on a 500 watt rms 2 ohm amp? Its a monoblock amp with one set of speaker outs but I can wire both subs to it in parallel as stated above. Anyone have suggestions or tips?

Should not be a problem. I have two JL 10's wired in parallel to a Fosgate 600 watt amp in bridged mono. Works great!!!

The amp peaks at 1000 watts but the subs each peak at 400 watts. That wont cause problems?

it souldnt be a problem, just be sure to not turn the gain up all the way on the amp if its 1000w and the subs peak at 400w, I'd put the amp gain at just under half way, or right at half.

Went with a pair of 8" Lanzar MAXP84's with 800 watt peak. Hooked them up as a 2 ohm load. They hit harder than my 12 with less of a power draw. On some songs though the dust cap does get rather warm. Gain is almost all the way down. But the LPF is also set at about 50 hz. Can't touch the bass boost.

Its a little big for those speakers just keep the gain low though and you shouldn't have problem. If your like ne nothing is ever loud enough or fast enough

Being that the amp is a 500 watt rms at 2 ohms and the subs are 250-400 watts rms each (cant remember which cause lanzar makes 2 different 8" subs), the amp is equal if not slightly underpowered for them. They are wired to a 2 ohm load.
