Default Just purchased 59 project car

Hello everyone,

I'm Mark and just purchased a 1959 El Camino. I saw it on the internet and had to have it. No engine or transmission and it is a bit rough but, everything else looks straight and great. I know it will be a lot of work and I'll spend quite a few bucks but, I've wanted to do this for a long time. I will probably have many questions and will need more than a few tips and tricks and parts....the car will be shipped to me by mid Jan. 2013...I can't wait!!! Expect quite a few posts by me....
Thanks,
Mark

Hi, Mark. Welcome from Florida. Sounds like a great project. I personally love 59's. There are some stunning first gens here. Check out the Gallery for some calendar cars.
The collective experience of the membership is outstanding and members here are always willing to help . Good luck
Pictures please!!
James

whatever you do, don't let DDD anywhere near it. He'll drool all over it and you'll spend years repairing the rust from that! If it's faded red, you may as well shoot him on sight, cause you'll never get it out of his arms.

I know what you mean had to have it, good luck with her. And some lucky fan on ECC may have a shot at another one here come spring time. Take your time, and do it right on the rebuild Mark.
