Default Sound deadening/carpet dye

I am adding a new sound system while i have the seats out i decided to dye the carpet(let you know how that turns out). I pulled the carpet and i am wondering if i should add sound deadening under the carpet while i have it out. Anyone tried this? Is it worth the effort?

Couldn't hurt. I used a couple of rolls of Frost King Duct Insulation found at the hardware store.

I used Fatmat off ebay with a recommendation from another member. it made a huge difference. I have a pretty aggresive exhaust system and it helped with that. Im sure if you put in a big stereo it will make it sound even better.

Yeah, I got some fatmat as well. Best price and compares to dynamat. I'm getting ready to do the doors, the space behind the seats and the floors possibly, if there is enough left over.

I just Extreme Dynamated all the floor surfaces and the facing area under the back window it took 1- 36sq ft/ 9pc box and $142.00 from E-bay.There is a big improvement,I run magna flow mufflers and it's loud in the cab.I just received another box of the same to do the entire smugglers box and hopefully the doors. It was much easier to do than I feared you can't go wrong and boy does it stick, lol.

Hey Thanks for the feed back looks like a good solution. I thought about looking at a water heater insulator but this looks to be a better solution.

There is another stuff you can get from Home Depot or Lowes. Works well. About $17 for a roll of it. Here it is:

Works great on the floors and inside the doors.

i also just extreme dynamatted my doors, under the back window, and smugglers area yesterday. it is pretty easy to do, just time consuming. i don't know how well it works yet, but it is a heck of a lot better to have than the old crumbly insulation the car came with!

also got it for $142 on amazon- the 36 sq ft box

Check this out a few other members did what I did and they all say the same it's great. I did my entire inside for less than $125.00 and I way over did it. This product just has a different name on it that's all.

I have learned to never characterize any of my cars as fixed....they are just temporarily between malfunctions. .....Dan ( old_coot)
