Our 5th Annual El Camino Night at Lee USA Speedway in New Hampshire is scheduled for FRIDAY JUNE 14, 2013. Please reserve this date on your calendar. It is on the same weekend as Father's Day, and what could be a better way to honor fathers than to do something they really want to do with their El Camino!
As we started last year for the first time, we will try to arrange additional events on the following day, Saturday, to include a breakfast gathering, an over-the-road cruise or caravan in the local area, and attending a formal car show/cruise night nearby. Last year, we finished the day up at Skip's Hamburgers in Merrimack MA, but they have not yet set their 2013 schedule. We will try to have them hold one on June 15 to coincide with our schedule, but can't guarantee anything yet. To make this more enjoyable, we encourage all Region 2 members to offer suggestions and/or comments on what they would like us to put together for the weekend as soon as possible. We are open to suggestions about the location of the breakfast gathering; the towns and routes for our caravan/cruise, as well as where and how to finish up the Saturday schedule. Any other ideas are welcomed. Your input is more than welcome, and we will be glad to have some volunteers work with us to improve the event and spread the work-load around a little bit more. This event will be our local part of the overall 10th Anniversary Celebration of the 2003 merger of El Camino Central and NECOA into a single cohesive organization. Let's try to make this a celebration worth attending and remembering!! You can contact me via PM, or via email at necoa@verizon.net Let the planning begin!!

We really need input from Region 2 members about our annual gathering in June.
Also need some volunteers to step up and do some of the "heavy lifting" with us. |

You are correct about that conflict of dates, Dave. Unfortunately, every weekend there is something else going on in the car world that would present a similar problem. However, the Good Guys show is limited to cars earlier than 1972, which leaves out all our 4th and 5th Gen El Caminos.
Our event will be El Caminos (and GMC Sprint/Caballero) only, and will be tailored specifically to the needs and interests of our members. Hope you will come join us even though Good Guys is right in your back yard. Lee Speedway is less than two hours from your location and we have folks come from every New England state as well as NY and NJ. Let me know if you have any ideas for our program. |

Dave - Region 2 has lots of smaller get togethers you might like. Please take a look at earlier threads in the Region 2 forum to see what we did last year and in 2010. Most of those events repeat every year and you should watch for new dates being announced for 2013. A good number of them are hosted by other clubs and we El Camino owners meet there and park/socialize together.

Drew, Jimmy & Bob - Great to hear from you new members. We had a great time last year at Lee Speedway and the three Saturday events as well. Here's a link to the thread from the 2012 event if you want to read the details and see lots of photos:
http://www.elcaminocentral.com/showthread.php?t=48906 You might want to drive up on Saturday morning April 6 to our smaller "Spring Dust Off" event at Lawrence Municipal Airport to meet some of the other members, swap parts, and discuss projects. See the next thread in this Region 2 forum for more details. |

Hi John,
I remember last year you said that you spoke to the Track manager about lodging. He said he could give us discounted rate is that still true for this year? (If so can you post hotel info) I’m hoping to make it this year. The track is 130 miles away so with 4:10 gears and a 4 speed I’ll have to trailer my car, don’t want to twist it at 4 grand for 2 hours getting up there. ![]() Thanks Garry
