I was told when I bought the car that the 305 had been replace with a 350 in my 86 Camino how do I know for sure?

Look at the passenger side head. Right under the head on the front of the block is a small pad sticking out the front. It's about 1/2" out from the block and 1"+ wide. If your alternator is in front of that head it'll be a little harder to see but still easy. If the pad is all dirty stick a rag on the end of a screwdriver and wipe it clean. The last 3 digits in the stamped string of numbers/letters are what we are looking for. Report back and we can figure it out.
