Since acquiring this mess a couple of weeks ( and a bout with the flu ago) we have installed a new power booster and master cylinder, front calipers and pads. We have ordered front brake lines a GM crate motor 350 gotten some of the brackets, ordered infer fenders and a battery tray, and some other assorted junk.. The hopes are to have this beast running by spring so we can start the body work

How's the rust in the body & floors? Rust is the real killer of these old cars. If
there isn't much, the restore should go quickly. If there are a lot of holes, it will take more time, as you have to completely remove the rust to have any chance of it not coming back.

JKK this is the master plan.. get it running correctly and run it for a bit then spend the bucks for body and paint
DONE DEAL DONNY yes ive done worse.. my 82 was literally saved from the crusher.. It had been donated to a votech school and the kids were done massacring it the below photos show mid build and finished product
WhisperPC the floors have football size holes in them but the rest of the body appears pretty good... the both quarters have been replaced.... and if you type with a limp like I do, its quite easy to acquire a 2913 car lol its a 2013... I was planning on getting an explorer or similar vehicle until I priced this and found them comparably priced...

Sheet metal is cheap and easy to find... IMHO looks like the majority of glass and trim is there... That's the tough/expensive stuff!

Sheet metal is, but GOOD sheet metal isn't. For my '73, the replacement floor pans were OK, but the replacement quarters were a lot thinner than stock. I understand that the sheet metal that you can find for the 3rd-gen doesn't always fit right either.

I understand why GM doesn't make the parts any more, but I really wish there was someone who made sheet metal to the original GM specs.

Its been a few days. work is slow so I had my workman go down the car with me and we got the entire brake system installed. we also pulled the ratty 305 motor and started putting the accessories on the 350 as well as painting my 350 motor orange. I need to get a quart of POR15 and paint the chassis I hope to have more pics tomorrow
