Default P-S-T polygraphite front-end kit

I was looking at doing a front-end rebuild on my '83 El Camino.

Anyone use one of their polygraphite urethane bushing kits?

If so, how do you like it? Would you do it again if you had to do it over again?

Default P-S-T poly

I don't know how to send pics with a PM, so here is an example of a 1984 recert decal.

The decal is located on the drivers side door jamb.

I installed the PST graphite's on my front end a few years ago. So far no issues. I liked them because I thought they would take the heat of the headers better than the stock rubber ones. Be sure to use plenty of the PTFE grease on them before installing. Well greased you will have no squeaks

You definitely need to make sure they are greased well. I had mine installed by a gentleman who did not and they do make noise. It is a dream to drive, just a bit noisy!

If the graphite impregnated bushing need to be greased to keep from being noisy, I think I will look at the Energy Suspension ones.

I'm hearing on another forum that they think they are better.

The idea of the graphite was for lubrication. Maybe they wont need lube at assembly. You could always contact them online & ask questions.

There's a thread over on MCSS about body/frame bushings. The guy ordered a set each from P-S-T, Prothane (132BL), and Energy Suspension (4141G0) to do a side by side compare of the three. He said when he got the P-S-T bushings, they came in Energy boxes! ...I've heard that the Energy Suspension graphite bushings are what P-S-T uses(?). ...Also, Mark Savitske has suggested using a graphite powder on the polygraphite body bushings instead of bushing grease. ...I know this thread wasn't about body bushings but, I thought maybe someone could tell us if Energy Suspension does indeed supply P-S-T.

I read the same thing about ES supplying PST. The way I took it was the black bushings are poly-graphite and red were urethane. I went with the PST poly-graphite bushings on my 72' with 2" drop spindles and all new steering iron. This tighten the camino up a lot, now I just got to quicken the steering up. Just be sure to tell them the parts you need and have them e-mail you the order you placed before shipping. I had a little problem getting the right parts the first time, but when all was done I was happy with the quality of parts. I know a little long winded but I hope this helps.
