how to deal with spiders - El Camino Central Forum : Chevrolet El Camino Forums

Car has been sitting for awhile. Anyway I have fifty or so spider egg sacs under car. I know some are old but some could be live. Any suggestions on how to deal with? Just spray with water? Spray insecticide then wash? Last time I just swept out with a broom in my garage little baby black widows came out of sacs and the mom came out of no where and charged me. Can't stand spiders.

I heard spray the bottom with Brake cleaner !!

Throttle body cleaner will sort those mongrels out,get spiders all the time here.

87 said it right. spray them with brake clean, with the straw, you have good aim, good distance, and no toxic residue, and you might even clean a bit o' grease off too! win win

Like they said carb or brake clean will drop any bug from spiders to wasps.

moose is right too. throttle body cleaner/carb/choke cleaner works great

just do the mama spider a favor, and when she falls out of the vehicle to the ground after you spray her, step on her and put her out of her misery. otherwise, she'll writhe around for a while, i'm sure in excruciating pain.

I wasn't sure about brake cleen on the egg sacs. If it would saturate or not

spider eggs will not survive any of the brake/carb/throttle body cleaners sprayed on them for sure

Thats good to know. I didn't realize when I go around stomping on spiders I'm really doing them a favor!!! I'm just helpful that way!!

I sprayed a big spider once and suddenly about 40 zillion little spiders swarmed out everywhere. My spray gun was working like a machine gun. I think I got 'em all.
