The '76 & '77 model years have the 11 inch...

The '76 & '77 model years have the 11 inch brakes. I'm pushing my Elco with a 507 inch Caddy engine, and the 11 inch rear brakes are good enough for panic stops & general high speed stops.......

I'm with 464 Elky...the pickup coil is the likely culprit.. The shaft & gear have to be removed from the dist casting, and a skinny snap ring holds to coin in place. Not difficult to replace that...
